Gbagbo accepts African Union mediator in I. Coast
Ivory Coast's embattled strongman Laurent Gbagbo on Sunday accepted the African Union's choice to mediate a bloody post-election crisis, who was rejected by his presidential rival Alassane Ouattara.Skip related content

"We accept, but now it is for the AU to decide," Gbagbo's spokesman Ahoua Don Mello told AFP.
The AU announced Saturday the appointment of former Cape Verde's foreign minister Jose Brito to organise negotiations between the two Ivorian parties.
"Cape Verde has always shown its neutrality in conflict, and a good referee must be neutral. It is thus a good suggestion. The other camp is looking for a partisan referee, I understand this attitude a little," he added.
